Toy allows kids to create stop-motion movies

A new toy from Jazwares promises to allow kids to direct, produce and screen their own action movies starring popular characters from Marvel Comics.

Jazwares Ani-Movie uses stop-motion photography to let young filmmakers create and edit action-packed movies and view them on their own television, or upload them to video sharing site YouTube.

Kids can choose from four backgrounds, and use characters such as Spiderman, Hulk, Green Goblin and Dr Doom.

Once the scene is captured via the attached digital camera, the figures are moved slightly and the scene snapped again.

When the process of shooting still images is finished, the series is copied into a movie. Kids can then add sound effects and other audio.

Everything needed to make the movie is included in the set, and kids can use their own SD card to save, edit and expand the length of their animations. The kit requires three AA batteries and is available for US$60.
