Symantec Australia managing director Craig Scroggie has stepped down from the role to pursue “other business interests”.

The move ends his eight-year career with the company.

Symantec’s Asia Pacific cloud boss Brenton Smith will take over the position.

Industry veteran Scroggie has an IT career spanning over 20 years, including stints at Fujitsu, EMC and Veritas Software. He currently serves as a non-executive director at data centre builder NextDC .

Smith joined Symantec in June last year. Prior to his appointment, Smith headed up CA Technologies’ Australian operation.
