Game company Square Enix said it did not lose data when its fan member site was hacked last week.
The company took down the server containing almost 2 million records of Japanese and European users after it discovered the unauthorised intrusion.
"Square Enix has now determined that user login credentials were not accessed. Moreover, we have not found evidence that the individual was able to access any personal information at all," the company said in a statement.
"We have reported this incident to the Japanese Government."
The site will be made live over the coming week.
The hack follows an earlier attack in May this year when the CVs of 350 job applicants 25,000 email addresses were stolen from Eidos Interactive, subsidiary of Square Enix.
