Microsoft plans to release six security patches for Windows next week in its regular monthly security update.

The software giant did not detail the patches other than to say they will include at least one that is rated as critical and will require systems to be restarted.

Microsoft also plans to relase an updated version of its Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool via Windows Update, Microsoft Update, Windows Server Update Services and the Download Center, but not Software Update Services.

The company will also issue a non-security related but high-priority update for Windows.

Microsoft regularly provides advance notification on the number of security updates it plans to release.
