Shares on hold as SEATS falls over

ASX spokesperson Gervase Greene said he had yet to be informed of the problem's cause. Greene the market crashed half way through its alphabetical rollout at 10:06 this morning.


Trading in Australian shares and derivatives will resume at around 1:30pm today after a failure of the Australian Stock Exchange's SEATS computer trading system brought markets to a halt just after 10am.

He said some trades were completed before the system went down.

The market will be notified as SEATS is restored. The system will first be placed in enquiry mode, allowing trades to be adjusted before they are processed.
