Former CIO position 'evolves'.

Superannuation fund QSuper has revamped its chief information officer role as part of an ongoing corporate renewal program.

QSuper hunts new technology lead

The fund, targeted at current and former Queensland Government employees and their spouses, lodged advertisements a fortnight ago seeking a "chief information and technology officer".

A QSuper spokeswoman told iTnews the role had "evolved from an existing IT and Change role".

The role replaces the previous CIO position held for the past five-and-a-half years by Baden Sharples, who the spokeswoman confirmed has moved on from the fund.

QSuper's head of information and communications technology David Gee has retained his job and will report to the new chief information and technology officer.

The super fund is midway through a three-year corporate renewal program.
