Qantas has appointed former Contact Energy New Zealand chief information officer Luc Hennekens as its new chief technology officer.

According to a Qantas spokesman, Hennekens’ responsibilities will cover Qantas’ technology architecture and end user computing environment, as well as aligning technology strategy across the business.
“[He] will lead Qantas IT’s ‘centres of excellence’, which focus on specific technology functions and initiatives,” the spokesperson said.
Hennekens will join the carrier on January 21 next year.
Qantas recently restructured its IT systems teams, with around 100 people being allocated new roles.
