Detectives from the NSW Fraud Squad stopped a vehicle in Muswellbrook about 1.35am today.

They allegedly seized a skimming device, a laptop, mobile phones "and other related equipment and tools" in a search of the vehicle, which will undergo forensic analysis.

A 24-year-old man was arrested at the scene. He was refused bail to appear at Muswellbrook Local Court today.

In another arrest, the officers under Operation Ice Hailstone in Queensland arrested and charged a man, although no further information on the arrest was provided.

The arrests were made with interstate cooperation from authorities including the NSW, Queensland and Federal Police.

Investigations into a recent spate of alleged skimming scams were continuing, a spokesman said.
