Sydney services provider Pacific ICS has signed a deal to distribute UK vendor Metastorm's business process management software in Australia.

Metastorm said in a statement that Pacific ICS had become a 'key distribution partner', working with Australian and New Zealand partners to roll out the process automation software to the Sydney company's clients.

Larry Roche, sales and marketing director at Pacific ICS, said few IT products delivered 'instantaneous business benefits' to customers but Metastorm was one of them.

'Our customers are finding that Metastorm's BPM software delivers value to the enterprise within a few days of installation ... due to its structure,' he claimed.

Pacific ICS would take Metastorm's 'e-work' products into the Australasian market, Roche said.

The service provider also has SunONE and POS software in its portfolio, which includes consulting, hardware and application management, maintenance and IT infrastructure services.

Metastorm said that the State Rail Authority of NSW, Chubb Insurance Department of Finance and Administration in Canberra and several large local governments in Australia already used its BPM software.

Kim Lewin, vice-president of international operations at the UK-based vendor, said the relationship would help the company grow sales in the Asia-Pacific.

'This relationship is ... building on our recent customer wins in Asia and extending our presence into Australia and New Zealand,' Lewin said.

Metastorm claims to have around 500 clients globally in area such as customer service, supply chain operations, risk management and internal operations.
