Oracle pushes out 45 patches; 14 for Database
Oracle on Tuesday released 45 fixes for vulnerabilities across its products, including the widely deployed Oracle Database.

The quarterly update also patched flaws in the Oracle Application Server, Hyperion, E-Business Suite, Enterprise Manager, PeopleSoft Enterprise and WebLogic Server.

There were 14 fixes for the Database, none of which could be remotely exploited without authentication, which traditionally is a sign for higher risk. The most severe vulnerability received a 6 out 10 on Oracle's Common Vulnerability Scoring System.

Experts at Sentrigo, a database security firm, told SCMagazineUS.com on Tuesday that the patch release was on par with previous updates from Oracle.

They said users should continue to expect a large number of flaws in Oracle products as data becomes more prolific and, as a result, researchers focus on these platforms.
