NetStar boasts of "invite-only" Cisco accreditation

The certification allows NetStar to sell Cisco's Unified Computing Solution (UCS).

UCS, which combines server hardware, virtualisation software and networking components into a single system, promises to reduce costs by cutting out the need for many traditional hardware components required in the data centre.

NetStar said it was one of three Cisco partners in Australia to be approved under the "invite-only" program. The two other partners include Dimension Data and Alphawest.

The program is designed to provide customers with reduced total cost of ownership, improved business agility and a reduction in the number of physical devices requiring interaction, NetStar said.

"It complements our recent EMC and VMware accreditations and enables us to sell and implement complete 'VCE' or Vblock solutions to our customers, to integrate networking, compute and storage technologies," Chris Meager, CEO of NetStar said.
