Irish mobile content provider Red Circle has entered the Australia market with the launch of OzTonez.com.au.

The site offers ringtones, wallpapers, animations, videos and games for a range of mobile phones, PDAs and SHDs.

The company is best known in the European market with its creative brands TXT UK, Mobile Diva and Zing Club and claims more than 4 million users in the UK.

Red Circle COO Cathal Fay said that following growth in the UK, a launch into other English speaking markets, such as Australia, was a natural step.

“Red Circle has grown in at a considerable rate in Ireland and the rest of Europe but Australia is a huge market in comparison,” he said.

According to the company, the Australian market for mobile content is forecast to balloon in the forthcoming years, with revenues set to surpass $1 billion in 2009.

Oztonez will use Optus, Telstra and Vodafone as these service providers enable the billing of content by premium SMS.
