McAfee outlines 'profitability initiatives'

By

McAfee has emphasised its commitment to achieving a 25 percent operating margin by the middle of next year.

Allan Bell, marketing director for Asia Pacific at McAfee, told iTnews that the company had "publicly committed to achieving a 25 percent operating margin by the middle of 2005".

"As part of this commitment the company is looking at every aspect of its business and will make adjustments as appropriate," he said.

There had been rumours out of the US this week that a number of layoffs at McAfee were being reported by the company's channel partners in that country.

But Bell said that -- beyond details released at the company's analyst day in the US last month -- McAfee was not commenting on any specific personnel changes.

The company's profitability initiatives were outlined in detail at the company's Analyst Day on 3 June, Bell said.
