Johansson to leave Microsoft for Amazon

Jesper Johansson, security program manager at Microsoft, has announced on his blog that he will leave the Redmond, Wash., software company for a position at Amazon.com.

Johansson will leave Microsoft Sept. 1 – ironically his fifth anniversary of employment with the company – to become principal security program manager at the online retailer four days later.


Praising his coworkers, Johansson called his half-decade at Microsoft "a remarkable ride," noting considerable changes in security at the company.

Johansson could not be reached for comment today.

An Amazon.com spokesperson could not be reached for comment today.

Asked for comment, a Microsoft spokeswoman said today the company "does not have any information to share at this time."
