Ettore Alterisio, business manager for volume products at distributor Ingram Micro Australia, said the distribution agreement would target the data storage requirements of the OEM, SMB and large corporate markets.
“We are looking to bolster our capabilities in the provision of data storage solutions to the channel and this partnership with Imation--which is one of the world's premier providers of data storage media--fits in perfectly with that strategy,” he said.
Alterisio said the partnership would help consolidate the rapid growth of Ingram Micro's storage networking security division.
Mark Gill, national sales and marketing manager for Imation, said the vendor aimed to become “number one choice” in removable data storage media. “Through our partnership with Ingram Micro Imation looks forward to strengthening its presence in the channel,” he said.
US-based Imation Corp develops, makes and supplies magnetic and optical removable data storage media--such as tape cartridges and diskettes--to businesses and consumers in more than 60 countries.
