MD Steve Rust said the distributor is trading 8am to 8pm instead of its usual 8:30am to 4:30pm for the peak June period, which should shorten product order and delivery time for the company?s Australia-wide network of resellers.

Ingram Micro is working an extra four hours each work-day in June to fulfil expected high demand.

?In June 2002 there was a sharp increase in the number of product orders being placed, with many resellers requiring next-day delivery. In response to what we anticipate will be a similar peak this June we have decided to extend our opening hours,? Rust said.

Ingram Micro carries components, hard disk drives, memory, networking, notebooks, PCs, peripherals, printers, servers, storage products and modems via offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

The parent company claims to be the largest global wholesale provider of technology products and supply chain management services.
