Homeland Secuirty department cries out for help

Officials from the Bush administration have called for more IT professionals to join the security industry.

Jack Johnson, chief security officer at the Homeland Security Department was reported to have said there has been a 'shrinking pool of IT security professionals' in government.


He added that the industry needed to train the next generation of security workers because the department was dependent on academic institutions for help. Johnson said that more research and development was needed in the field.

The Homeland Security Department announced it is redesigning its personnel security to deter internal attackers.
