A serial malware writer was booted from the Google Play store after uploading fake anti-virus Android applications.
The apps were generated by the Appsgeyser platform.
The malicious app, Antivirus Free, claimed to detect and cross-reference new installed applications with a database of known malcious applications, and use less than 0.1 per cent of battery power.
Meanwhile, AVG had announced a deal with Android marketplace provider Livewire to scan all apps uploaded to the store using its anti-virus engine.
The AVG Android app would be downloaded when user phones update.
HackMan's malicious installation files were still available on his web site.
