As if being beaten in a penalty shootout wasn't bad enough, now Italian goalkeeper Gigi Buffon has more to worry about: there are more unsafe websites bearing his name than any other Euro 2008 footballer.
Buffon heads a list of footie players, dubbed the Malicious XI, whose fame is being harnessed by malware writers to infect fans' PCs.
Buffon heads a list of some of Europe's top talent, beating the likes of Ruud van Nistelrooy and Cesc Fabregas to the dubious honour. Incoming Chelsea coach Luis Felipe Scolari joined the 11 footballers as the manager whose name appears the most on unsafe websites.
Needless to say, there were no English players in the Euro 2008 Malicious XI. The full list, compiled by security vendor McAfee, is as follows:
1. Gigi Buffon
2. Alessandro Del Piero
3. Fabio Cannavaro
4. Klass Jan Huntelaar
5. Freddie Ljungberg
6. Tomas Grigera
7. Martin Harnik
8. Cennaro Gattuso
9. Ruud Van Nistelrooy
10. Cesc Fabregas
11. Carlos Puyol
Coach: Luis Felipe Scolari
