EFTel’s broadband customer base will almost double to 40,000 thanks to its acquisition of aaNet group.

EFTel CEO Simon Ehrenfeld said aaNet’s turnover of about $10 million annually, would help the company achieve its ambition of becoming one of Australia’s largest broadband providers.

Ehrenfeld said the acquisition would place EFTel in a position to continue taking advantage of ongoing consolidation activity in the ISP sector.

“The aaNet business… will provide an additional growth engine to the company as well as new economies of scale,” he said.

VoIP and other voice products would also be offered to aaNet customers to drive additional revenue and margin, Ehrenfeld said.

“We now have a path forward for other large acquisitions in this space,” he said.

EFTel now lays claim to 140,000 accounts.
