CSC powers up $30 million Woodside Energy deal

CSC has worked as part of Woodside's Information Solutions and Services group since 2006, and will continue to provide service desk support, field services problem management, data centre hosting and provision, as well as Wintel, Unix and network services.

The IT outsourcing company has further expanded its scope of services to also deliver resource, consulting and project services for Woodside's infrastructure and application implementation.

"The scope of the contract will enable Woodside to better leverage CSC's full capabilities in support of their business requirements and fulfil their plans for further expansion in the North of Western Australia,"  said Gavin Larkings, president of CSC in Australia.

Larkings saidit is an "exciting time in Australia's oil and gas industry,"  despite the Federal Government's plan to impose a new 40 percent tax on the resources sector as part of the Henry Review.

CSC's client portfolio includes mining and resource sector companies such as BHB Billiton, OneSteel, BlueScope Steel, Xstrata and Rio Tinto, which are all set to be hit by the increased tax reforms.
