Computer Associates announced Monday that it acquired PestPatrol, a privately held supplier of anti-spyware technology.

Details of the all-cash transaction were not disclosed.

Computer Associates said it will market the PestPatrol technology as eTrust PestPatrol and will incorporate it into its eTrust Threat Management software product line.

PestPatrol's technology detects and removes spyware, adware, Trojan horses, and other web-based threats from PCs. The company was founded in 2000.
