Cassa Australia -– a division of distributor Cellnet -– has signed on as an exclusive distributor of ASUS server solutions.

Under the arrangement, Cassa would build-to-order server systems with bundled software for the reseller channel. Resellers would then place their own badge on the system, according to Chris Hill, general manager at Cassa Australia.

Cassa would now be able to offer a complete server, instead of just 'barebone' systems, he said.

The distributor has been distributing ASUS' range of motherboards, video cards, optical drives, barebone servers and notebooks under an agreement that has existed since 1996.

'We've been ASUS' oldest distributor in Australia. We'd been distributing all their products anyway,' he said.

The ASUS systems ship with Red Hat, SUSE, SCO, Novell and Microsoft operating system software, warranty support, web-based management software and a dedicated sales and pre-sales team at Cassa, the company claimed.
