Apple has released a new version of iOS 9.3.2 specifically for its 9.7in iPad Pro tablet after the original update bricked the devices.

The company posted iOS 9.3.2 to the public in mid-May.

But it pulled the update just weeks later after users reported receiving an "error 56" message advising them to connect to iTunes via their Lightning USB cable after installing the update.

The error message reappeared once the tablet was connected to iTunes, rendering the device unusable.

Apple is yet to detail the cause of the problem. At the time it said it was working on a fix and would release a new version of iOS 9.3.2 "as quickly as possible".

It today made build 13F72 of iOS 9.3.2 for 9.7in iPad Pros publicly available as an over the air download.

It's the third time this year Apple has needed to rectify its software - in March it released a new build of iOS 9.3 after users reported activation problems for older devices and broken web links, and in February it released a patched iOS 9.2.1 after the 'error 53' factory security test bricked iPhones.
