Karen Lancaster McCutchin, the mother of Anonymous activist Barrett Brown, was sentenced to six months of probation and a $1,000 fine for helping her son hide laptops from federal police searching their home.

According to the Associated Press, McCutchin was sentenced that day for concealing evidence during a March raid of their home.

Brown pleaded innocent last December to 12 charges filed against him in connection with the theft of credit card information from intelligence firm Stratfor.

He was not accused of taking part in the alleged Anonymous-led intrusion, but of transferring a link from an Anonymous-run internet relay chat (IRC) room to one under his own control.

Brown faces a 100-plus year prison sentence if found guilty of all charges against him.
