Denial of service attacks have hit and disabled Al-Qaeda sites.

Two prominent propaganda sites of Al-Qaeda have been attacked and brought offline by heavy denial of service attacks.

Chat forum Al-Shamukh and secondary site Al-Fidaa have been brought offline.

Alleged terrorist sites have been targeted by online groups and hackers for years.

However some actors united in ambition to disable Al-Qaeda websites had disagreed whether whistleblowing website Wikileaks should be attacked for publishing sensitive US diplomatic cables.

SC understands the sites were taken offline by the same source. Hackers had hinted but not confirmed their involvement .
