4Radio turns a PSP into a wireless
Channel 4 has signed a deal with Wi-Fi provider The Cloud to offer free content to Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) users.

The two-month trial will allow podcasts from 4Radio to be downloaded to PSP games consoles.

Programmes designed specifically for PSP owners include morning news, content from SlashMusic and Celebrity Big Brother updates.

The Cloud has connections at 7,500 public hotspots throughout the UK. PSP users who open the Internet browser while within range are automatically pointed to a page designed for them.

"Radio has the potential to be the most powerful and influential medium in broadcasting, but to achieve this in a digital world it needs to start innovating and fast," said Nathalie Schwartz, Channel 4 Radio director.

"Making 4Radio's content available on-demand on the go through The Cloud's Wi-Fi network enables us to target listeners who want bold and mischievous radio programming but don't have time to tune in before they leave the house."
