Second Project Ara prototype made public.
At Google's Module Developers Conference yesterday, the technology giant revealed a number of details about its long-awaited second Project Ara prototype phone, known as Spiral 2.
Google's aim with Project Ara is to create a new kind of phone which lets the owner upgrade or replace the phone's parts in pieces - so you won't have to buy an entirely new phone if you crack your screen, for example. Google wants users to be able to buy a new screen and snap it into its phone's skeleton frame, which holds parts into place with electro-permanent magnets.
