Yahoo! and the Seven Network have announced the appointment of a new CEO to add direction to their joint venture, Yahoo!7.

Yahoo and the Seven Network have announced the appointment of a new CEO to add direction to their joint venture, Yahoo!7.

Former Cordiant Communications APAC president Ian Smith takes on the new role and is charged with creating new content and advertising revenue opportunities.

Smith commences the role in July at which time interim chief executive Rohan Lund will resume his role as digital media & strategic investments director and board member.

The news follows the recent announcement of a partnership between Yahoo! and Nokia for the provision of Yahoo services and content over Nokia 3G handsets.

Yahoo! and the Seven Network announced its joint venture in January.
