By

For its fourth acquisition in two years, Waltham, MA-based Watchfire has purchased Sanctum, developer of web application security testing tools.

The deal, which includes the acquisition of all Sanctum products and intellectual property, should close in about 30 days from now. Watchfire intends to add to its ranks about 75 of Sanctum's employees and plans to expand the functionality of Sanctum's web application security testing and firewall products, according to a news release.

The goal behind this and previous acquisitions is to strengthen WebXM, Watchfire's flagship enterprise platform for managing online business. With the expanded version of the platform, customers will be able to monitor, measure, manage and secure online actitivities with one product.
