Vic triple zero agency CIO leaves for the US

Victoria’s Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority is looking for a tech chief for the second time in less than a year, after its chief information officer accepted a senior IT job in the US.

Glenn Page was appointed ESTA’s CIO in August last year, ending a months-long search by the emergency services dispatch agency.

He had previously been head of technology services at energy and utilities giant AGL, and has also worked for Siemens, Sensis, PMP, IAG and the Australian Defence Force.

Shortly after he accepted the position at ESTA, Page was offered a role as global head of operational excellence with Tata Consultancy Services, based out of Los Angeles.

He accepted the position with TCS in order to move with his family to California, finishing up his duties with ESTA in mid-January.

The agency’s executive manager of operations support, Lisa Mannix, is acting as its CIO following the departure.

A spokesperson for ESTA told iTnews the agency is to decide whether to replace the role permanently.

ESTA is responsible for dispatching an average of one call every 13 seconds for Victoria’s Country Fire Authority, Melbourne Metropolitan Fire Brigade, Ambulance Victoria, Victoria Police and State Emergency Services.

The departure marks the agency’s second CIO vacancy in less than 12 months, after Deborah Weiss was promoted into the role of chief operations officer in June last year.
