The new system, zMail, will come with a 10GB storage capacity, allowing users to make 10MB file transfers.
It will be managed by UNSW and hosted by Microsoft at the Live@edu Exchange Labs site in the U.S.
The web interface will be compatible, at minimum, with Internet Explorer 6 and 7, Firefox 1.8, Opera 7.54 and Safari 1.2. It will also be compatible with any browser that supports HTML 3.2 and ECMAscript.
It will be rolled out to Maths Summer School students late in November, and then to the broader student community over the January-February 2009 period.
