New four-year IT services deal.

Toyota Australia will roll out Windows 7 to users as part of a revamped four-year IT services contract it awarded to incumbent supplier Fujitsu.

It covered midrange and mainframe kit and now managed desktop and service desk support, MIS Australia reported.

A statement from Fujitsu said the contract included deployment of a "new Windows 7 desktop build that complements Toyota Australia's IT technology direction for a transformed directory-services environment".

"The scope of the contract will enable us to lower operational costs, implement greater flexibility and reduce management time with our IT responsibilities," Toyota Australia information systems divisional manager James Scott said.
