SonicWALL charges for annual IPS

By

Wireless firm SonicWALL has launched an intrusion prevention service available by annual subscription, from $500 per applicance.

The technology will deliver a signature engine for protection to services, such as web, e-mail and DNS.

The signature language used in the deep packet inspection will provide a defence against vulnerabilities, a spokesperson for the company said.

The intrusion prevention service will be available worlwide on the SonicWALL TZ 170 and PRO 2040, 3060, 4060, and 5060 models later in the year.
