Movember challenge spans Australia and the US.

An SC Magazine Australia Awards judge is one of the IT security podcasters growing facial hair to raise money for men's health.

Security podcasters get hairy for charity

Patrick Gray, who helped judge this year's successful SC Awards presented by AusCERT at its annual conference, will join pauldotcom's Larry Pesce and Paul Asadoorian and Chris Gerling in Movember, which raises money and awareness for men's health issues such as prostate cancer and depression.

Gray, who hosted the Risky Business podcast and is on SC Magazine's advisory panel, said he will solicit donations from listeners and security technology vendors.

"We figured we'd put our D-Grade celebrity to some use," Gray said.

"We're hoping the vendors will chip in as well because they generally have deeper pockets then individuals."

He said US supporters should donate to the Security Podcasters Alliance team (or individuals) on us.movember.com and those in Australia can donate at au.movember.com.
