Scope3’s founder and CEO Brian O’Kelley spoke to Digital Nation Australia about the expansion of the company stating that the organisation has already interacted with Initiative, GroupM, Omnicom, Havas and Publicis among other advertising companies, broadcasters, ad tech companies and publishers.
According to O’Kelley, while the company is remote first, the JAPAC team will be led from Sydney.
“We’ve also been doing a lot in other parts of APAC. We've done some work in India. We've done some work in Singapore. We're planning to launch in Japan sometime next year. That will all be run out of Sydney,” he said.
“It's a huge opportunity and it's great to have such experienced people in region, because we already have a lot of those relationships. We know a lot of the fundamental issues. We know how programmatic works. It's just a great team and a great market to be innovating and trying to solve a fundamental problem.”
Cheung left her role as regional director JAPAC at Oracle to run the JAPAC team at Scope3, and Niki Banerjee jumped from his role as market development manager at Xander to run customer success for the whole region.
“[Cheung and Banerjee] are both just awesome. They're both part of our global leadership team. They can do things here in a sort of protected market, that are harder to do in a big market, like the US. Like we can actually get the industry together in a room and actually have conversations,” said O’Kelley.
“We can go talk to publishers, we can go bring everybody together and say, ‘Hey let's fix this together’.”
According to Cheung, “In Australia, where low use of renewable energy means it has one of the highest advertising emissions per capita globally, our goal is to collaborate across the industry to drive outcomes and develop programs and solutions that can be applied both regionally and around the world.”
