Police to guard chat rooms

British police are teaming up with international counterparts to spy on internet chat rooms to stop paedophiles grooming children online.

Australian police and the FBI are to work a round-the-clock rota with the UK's Nationakl Crime Squad to monitor chat rooms 24/7.


Officers may be permitted to interrupt potentially dangerous conversations to warn both users.

Further details of the scheme will be revealed on Wednesday.

The police has convicted more than 1,200 people for online paedophilia as part of Operation Ore.
