In brief: The homepage of the NSW Government's Building the Education Revolution program was last month replaced with a rant rubbishing Australia's immigration policies.
The defacement was posted by a Palestinian hacker Mlook Ahmar, who disagreed with immigration visa requirements.
The text, which has been edited for clarity, read: "The reason that no one can travel to Australia from the Middle East for work is that they need a Visa and a balance above $10,000, that is the judgment of the Australian Government. What do you think? Good government?"
The Department of Education and Training did not return requests to explain how the site was exploited or whether data was compromised.
