Mozilla releases latest beta of Firefox 3.1
Firefox 3.1 beta 2 supports 54 languages, and offers a privacy mode which the company said would let users browse without logging any information about the sites visited.

Mozilla suggested that the new feature could be used for private holiday shopping, for example, although some internet users might have other ideas.

Another privacy feature is the ability to easily remove personal history, or indeed all traces of a particular web site.

Other updates to the open-source browser will be less obvious to the casual user. A new TraceMonkey JavaScript engine is now the default for web content, while support for new technology, including the W3C Geolocation API, JavaScript query selectors and CSS 2.1, has also been added.

Firefox 3.1 beta 2 is available for download now.
