Mozilla will release details over the next few weeks about what to expect in the upcoming release of Firefox 3.5.

New features include support for open audio and video, threads in JavaScript, canvas improvements, new cascading style sheets, downloadable fonts and geolocation services, according to the Mozilla Developer Center web site.

The company explained that its Technology Evangelism team would be posting new articles over the next 35 days to demonstrate the new features.

Meanwhile, more than 800,000 users are currently testing Beta 4 of Firefox 3.5, and the firm said that they would be given a new update to assist Mozilla with more feedback.

The update will contain fixes for stability bugs and the JavaScript engine, and improvements to Mozilla's built-in support for Ogg-based video and audio playback.

Mozilla emphasised the stability of the beta preview, but warned that the release is intended only for developer testing.

"We recommend that most users wait for the official Firefox 3.5 release, which is coming soon," said Mozilla.
