The latest upgrades – Firefox 18.104.22.168 and Firefox 22.214.171.124 – correct a low-risk file transfer protocol (FTP) port-scanning vulnerability, according to a Mozilla security advisory.
But the main purpose of Tuesday’s release is to patch a number of web compatibility flaws inadvertently included as part of Firefox 126.96.36.199 and 188.8.131.52.
The next-version update will include regular security fixes, according to the Mozilla Developer Center.
Meanwhile, the company announced that Firefox version 1.5 will only be supported until April 24. All users are encouraged to upgrade to version 2.0.
The latest Firefox update will be distributed to users through automatic updates and is available for Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems, a Mozilla spokeswoman said.
