The next-version update will include regular security fixes, according to the Mozilla Developer Center.
Meanwhile, the company announced that Firefox version 1.5 will only be supported until April 24. All users are encouraged to upgrade to version 2.0.
The latest Firefox update will be distributed to users through automatic updates and is available for Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems, a Mozilla spokeswoman said.
