Microsoft has updated the developer tools for its Azure Services Platform, boosting performance and improving integration with Visual Studio.

Microsoft updates Azure developer tools
Azure, announced at the Professional Developer Conference in October, is Microsoft's platform for cloud computing, allowing developers to code applications to make use of the resources available in Microsoft data centres.

Feedback from developers after the release of a Community Technology Preview has been incorporated into the Windows Azure SDK and Windows Azure tools for Visual Studio.

As well as bug fixes and an increase in performance, improvements have been added to Storage Client and ASP.Net provider samples, and support has been provided to debug Silverlight in a web role.

Microsoft said that it will continue to release updates to the Windows Azure SDK based on feedback from developers.
