Macquarie Uni CIO to be named in August

Sharp left to take up the CIO role at the University of Newcastle. She had been the director of IT services at Macquarie University for over five-and-a-half years.

Executive search firm Braithwaite Steiner Pretty was appointed to find her replacement.

Although the role has officially been vacant almost four months, the search firm's consultant Philip McCann said over 250 applications had been received from Australia and overseas - a record for the firm.

David Fryda would continue in the role of interim director of IT services until a permanent replacement was named.
