Level 5 snaps up Westec InterActive

By

Level 5 Security has reached a definitive agreement to acquire Westec InterActive Security, a provider of interactive video surveillance and remote management systems.

The deal will see Irvine, California-based Westec InterActive, taken over by video monitoring and video verification company Level 5 which is headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida.

Before the change of ownership Westec InterActive Security had previously been owned the Westec Security Group.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the combined company will trade as Westec InterActive.

Gerald Vento, chairman and chief executive officer of the combined company, said the takeover would be used to provide a foundation for the merged company to expand its services beyond security and facilities management to provide comprehensive quality and risk assurance auditing.

Mitch Johnson was named President of Westec InterActive. Johnson served in the same role at Level 5 Security.
