Juniper Networks unveils enhanced access control product

Juniper Networks has revealed new features in its access control system.


Unified Access Control (UAC) version 2.1 is a network-protection device that also monitors employee application use, the network infrastructure company said.

According to Juniper Networks, added features include a threat-control centre and user-identity profiler, which allows IT mangers to monitor network and application usage, audit access and address regulatory compliance.

Endpoint device support, management assessment checks and a Layer 2/Layer 3 UAC agent for Microsoft Windows Vista, are also new.

Juniper UAC 2.1 is available at the end of October from for 100 users. The software is free for current UAC customers.
