HP dusts off BlackBerry printing
HP has said that it may revive its printing platform for BlackBerry handheld devices now that the market has matured.

"Two or three years ago we had a BlackBerry printing platform that we introduced to market," Sharon Jones, vice president of laserjet connectivity and document delivery at HP, told a discussion group at the Print 2.0 conference in New York.

"We were a little bit ahead of the market but we feel that it may be time to dust that off and bring it back."

John Johansky, vice president of technology solutions and partner organisations at HP, added: "It is a good point, at least in terms of how we are working and the balance of time, resources and priorities. Mobility is an important component."

The company also showed a great deal of interest in a suggestion for dedicated email printing.

The proposed service would allow users to send mail to a specific email address, with the understanding that any attachments contained within a message were to be printed.
