Integrator and hardware vendor Fujitsu Australia has gained Cisco gold partner certification.

The designation certifies Fujitsu as qualified to design, supply, deploy and support Cisco Systems' network management, content networking and WLAN portfolio.

To qualify, Fujitsu needed to prove it had a certain number of Cisco Certified Engineers and Cisco-focused sales representatives and a commitment to involvement in Cisco's training programs.

The company also had to have test and development laboratories that could demonstrate the appropriate Cisco specialisations. A certain level of pre-sales and post-sales support and customer satisfaction had to be shown.

Cisco Systems Australia channels director Kip Cole said the networking vendor's gold certified partner designation offered 'the highest level' of credibility and service in the marketplace.

Fujitsu is known mainly as a hardware vendor but in Australia focuses on system integration and services provision for telecommunications, desktop and data centres in corporations and government.

The parent company, Fujitsu Ltd, is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, and reported consolidated revenue of 4.6 trillion yen (US$38 billion) for the fiscal year ended 31 March 2003.
