Farmers reap the profit of security

By

British agricultural supplier Countrywide Farmers is renewing its network security.

The firm has employed network infrastructure specialist Fordway Solutions to implement antivirus firewalls at its network gateway to protect against hackers and other attacks.

The company decided to improve its antivirus protection after it was hit by viruses such as Blaster and SoBig,

"While we debated the idea of replacing the existing hardware and upgrading the licence, we realised that that was only going to be a short-term fix," said said Steve Robinson, network services manager at Countrywide Farmers. "What we really wanted was a single device that would meet our evolving needs."

Countrywide Farmers installed products made by FortiGate. The firm will replace its firewall platform with two devices that provide firewall, VPN and intrusion prevention.
