F-Secure says it has received FIPS 140-2 validation from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Announcing the certification at the FOSE Conference in Washington this morning, the IT security firm says the validation is for its
Cryptographic Library for Windows, which is already incorporated into its SSH Server for Windows 5.30 product, which has just started
shipping.

The company claims the level 2 certification makes it the first vendor to provide FIPS 140-2 Level 2 validated cryptography with SSH products.

This, the firm adds, gives customers access to server grade encryption that can be run in multi-user server environments and allow several users to use an application simultaneously.
