Network security firm CyberGuard is to sell a firewall that incorporates authentication and encryption technologies.

The Total Stream Protection (TSP) firewall features five components that scan the content and context of data.

"TSP's multi-packet inspection technology goes beyond the application layer," said Pat Clawson, chairman and CEO of CyberGuard. "It allows benign traffic to pass through at the same time preventing malignant traffic."

The five technologies featured are: TSP Defender, which prevents unauthorized users connecting to network resources; TSP Protector, which encrypts communications; TSP Dispatcher, which does load balancing; TSP Inspector, which prevents illicit commands; and TSP Enforcer, which secures web-enabled business applications.
